Origami

I like origami and always happy to make models together or do something similar.

History

I started to do origami when I was 8, at the time my friend started doing it first. I asked my parents to buy me the book «Уроки оригами в школе и дома» (¨Origami lessons in school and home¨) and had learned all models from the book in two years (I still remember by heart many of them). During these two years I folded a lot, and also bought several more books (not that great though) and folded often. Since then my origami development is stalled and awaits a new rise. Sometimes I fold a bit with somebody, or teach, or try to learn something; but there was no big wave or regular activity so far.

What I like in origami

I like mathematics and simple geometric forms. Origami attracts me with its minimalism: there is just a paper square and the only thing to do is to fold it. I like this simple restricted origami, without cutting, gluing and wet folding.

What I want to learn

I want to know how to make dragons.

My favourite models

  • Inflatable tulip — very beautiful model, which is fast and easy to make.
  • Iris.
  • Crow — interactive model, which is fast and easy to make.
