My perception of art
My taste in arts is pretty simple. I like things that are beautiful (looking, sounding). And for me this is the most important criterion. I am very direct and not very good at reading between lines, so I'm not a fan of conceptual art without beauty. Also I don't value novelty or uniqueness; on the countrary, a good melody or scenery is worth to be used many times where suitable, in my opinion.
Also I noticed that I'm attracted by works where there is some restriction in tools and materials that are used to make the work. So artist can get maximum from these restricted resources. As examples I name origami, demoscene, tracked music, pixel graphics, drawing with pencils, solo on one instrument.
Other things that I like in a work of art are accuracy, harmony and completeness. I like very saturated and monumental works (like big multi-volume books, discographies with hundreds of albums, musical works with tens of tracks, instruments and samples, pictures with a huge number of details).
At the same time I like very much minimalistic works, for example pictures from one color (almost), noise music, field recordings. They are easy to make, easy to perceive, and give to viewer/listener great space for imagination.
